The Solution to Racial Tensions is to GET DOWN

… with the music. I met some high school aged bboys last Spring when Tiny Toones came to visit. It’s always interesting to me to see breakdancing in the media as something with an inherent race or sex. To defy the images of a stereotypical bboy or bgirl (and what would that even be?) seems to be something akin to a great social movement, or a step taken in personal development. I don’t blame them, I was interested because of the same impetus. It’s fun to see how far it’s come. Whether these kinds of programs are effective on a larger scale would be interesting to implement and observe. I wonder who’s willing to do that around here?! Hmmm…
